Get ready to have your students master their multiplication facts, with some help from a multiplication chart and their monster math fingers!
I love when I see teachers using those witch fingers with their students to help them track the words as they read. However, since I teach third grade, I needed to find a different way to incorporate those witch fingers…introduce monster math fingers!
We are really working hard to master our multiplication facts (courtesy of common core!) before we move on to division. One of the lessons I taught my students was how to use the multiplication chart as a strategy to finding the product.
I showed the multiplication chart on my white board and we practiced together, before they independently applied this skill to their work.
9 x 3 = 27….monster style!
Do you have any other good ideas for those witch fingers? I would love to hear them!
