There are five different learning targets that are taught in this holly-jolly resource! Grab a copy of the adorable book Sad Santa by Tad Carpenter and use it as a mentor text to teach the five different learning targets.

This resource includes colorful anchor charts for each learning target and also a graphic organizer for each target. The unit concludes with an adorable (yet content related!) bulletin board with Santa character traits. Students mix and match different templates of clothing to make their Santa and identify his character traits.

There are so many other ways to use the scenarios presented in this file. These scenarios can also be used for:
1. Teaching the Social and Emotional Learning Standards

2. Teaching the expectations/rules at the beginning of a new school year

3. Writing prompts- students can write and reflect as part of their writing workshop or “seat work” at the beginning of the day

4. Character education
