Digital reading passages

Are you looking for a DIGITAL, PAPERLESS resource to use with Google Slides? In my newest digital resource, students read engaging information text articles and then check their comprehension with different comprehension checks.

This resource is formatted with the text boxes already inserted into slides. All your students need to do is type in their answer! This digital, paperless resource includes 7 non-fiction, or informational text, articles about different animal classifications. There is a total of 22 Google Slides.

Here are the titles of the animal articles:
* Vertebrates vs. Invertebrates
* Amazing Amphibians
* Incredible Insects
* Astounding Arachnids
* Fascinating Fish
* Birds
* Magnificent Mammals

This is a digital, or paperless resource, which is perfect for Google Classroom. This resource comes with a PDF, which includes step-by-step directions for how to use with Google Classroom. If you are not sure how to use digital resources and Google Classroom, this resource comes with an extensive set of directions- over ten pages- to help guide you through the process. The PDF also includes the Google link for you to access all the slides. The Google link can be shared with your students via Google Classroom or Google Drive.

There are two different comprehension checks per article
After reading an article, students can check their knowledge by completing the comprehension check, demonstrating what they learned about the animals in the articles. This is a great way for your students to interact with different informational text features. These articles can be used with guided reading groups, a whole group reading lesson, or reading workshop. Teachers also tell me that they use these articles as test preparation, getting the students used to finding and using text evidence.

Reading Comprehension Checkpoints Include:
* Identifying main idea and supporting details
* Finding text evidence to answer questions about the article
* Identifying text features
* Identifying key details
* Identifying important vocabulary/content words
* Writing an opinion with supporting reasons about the article
